Wimbledon Tickets

The Club is affiliated to the LTA, one of the advantages of which is that we are allocated a certain number of tickets for the Wimbledon championships.  The allocation normally comes out in late March, and we then hold  aballot whereby these are distributed amongst those members who have applied to enter.  The tickets are allocated in pairs.

2013 Ballot.  This was held on Saturday 7 April, next year's will probably be on a similar date, with similar rules.

Eligibility.  To enter the ballot you must be a fully paid-up member of the Club for 2012 as well as being a British Tennis Member (BTM) with a BTM number.  British tennis Membership is a privilege that is granted free by the LTA to affiliated clubs (like Fernhurst) via a reasonably straightforward on-line system as detailed below.
All BTMs, including children, are eligible to enter (children under 18 are not allowed to attend the Champuionships unaccompanied) and there is no need to be physically present at the draw.

British tennis Membership. To become a British tennis Member follow the following on-line process:
     1    Log onto http://www.lta.org.uk
     2.   Click on Members Login in the top left-hand corner
     3.   Click on Sign up for Free in the right-hand Non-members box.
     4.   In the next window click on Join Today in the bottom left-hand Club Members' Free box
     5.   Follow the instructions to give your personal details which will include a user-name and password.
     6.   In the Place to Play box type in Fernhurst Tennis Club or select from the drop-down menu.

Conduct of the Ballot.  All members will be asked beforehand whether they wish to take part and whether they have any constraints (either date  or cost) as to which tickets they wish to be eligible for (Please keep this as simple as possible!)  The default option will be the assumption that everone wants the best (i.e. most expensive) ticket available.
The first name out of the hat will then be offered the best  ticket that he or she has opted for, and that name will not go back into the hat.
The process will continue until all tickets have been drawn.  A number of reserve names will also be drawn.

Payment
.  Payment will need to be made by the following friday 20 April.  If payment is not received then the tickets will be offered to the first-drawn  reserve.

Additional tickets. Sometimes extra tickets become available after the main ballot has been drawn.  These will be offered to the reserve names drawn at the main ballot.
